Die Hard 4.0 is great!!! Watch it, it’s worth everything you’ve paid for. Hehehe
On my Bible reading plan the chapter allotted are Psa. 77-78:53, while reading this chapters a thought came into my mind. Can a Holy God be angry? If you think about it “Angry God” seems to be an oxymoron that exist only in Greek mythology not in the universe of Christians. It seems farfetched to view God, the Loving/ Merciful/ Caring/ Thoughtful… rodLike (waaahhh blasphemy)… joke lng po, to be angry. It’s like saying that a positive has a negative. Well if you think about it, negative multiplied by negative is equals to positive ( -1 x -1 = +1)… I know right!? :D. Well, even positive numbers, like 3, can be odd. So does anger contradict or demolish the whole definition of God? Certainly not!!! Reason being: This just shows that God is GOD; by definition God can do anything. I don’t want to dwelve into this topic because it would be another blog rather I want to focus in this reason “God is not a passive being”. God is not a couch potato that just watches “History” channel. Rather, he is the professional potter with the invisible hands that shapes the course of our future. He is the active author that writes “HIS-story” more than a best-seller, he even used his blood to pen the best twist of all time. As far as I know… he is the painter that sees this canvas called world and blots out everything that can hinder it to be called a masterpiece.
Am I too playful with words? Am I beating-around-the bush? Hehe… what does all this things have to do with an “Angry God”? Well here it is… two points my beloved siblings… yes just two.
1. Green Giant anger (The Hulk Anger) - Destructive anger:
As we all know this Green beast injected with nuclear steroids leaves nothing but debris in his wake. It leaves no stone standing in its place. All it wants is to destroy the things that stands in it’s way. Yes dear sibling, the aim of destructive anger is nothing so it leaves NOTHING behind too. It points to nowhere.
2. Constructive Anger - I like to call it passion to create.
It is a feeling of passion that a skilled potter pours out to each inch of clay. They leave no imperfection. It is a feeling of patiently spinning, pressing, and rearranging the model so that it would be ready for the heat. It is the same feeling that a writer feels when they kill a beloved character… it is so that you and I would know the value of life. It’s the same feeling that a painter experience when they atone imperfection with the appropriate colors so that what he sees is a masterpiece.
My dear sibling in faith, when God seems to be angry that is because He is shaping you and I so that we would be ready for the fire of life. He gives and takes away clay as needed so that you and I would serve our purpose. When he closes a chapter that is because he would open a new one. When he seems far that is because he is observing what needs to be covered in your life. After which, he would gently brush of those dark spots with the colors of life. He is not a god who sleeps rather He is a God who is ever concerned with the affairs of us lowly beings. So remember my beloved sibling, when God is ANGRY… He is just passionate in touching your life.
“Your ways, O God, are HOLY. What god is so GREAT as OUR God”
